Program Summary
The AHRA Leaders of Choice Program is a 12-month leadership learning experience brought to you by AHRA, sponsored by United Imaging, and facilitated by Traction Business Development.
This program will prepare senior imaging professionals to be the confident, next-level leaders needed to manage the increasingly complex healthcare environment. In addition to growing overall business skills, presentation skills, and financial acumen, participants will be challenged to be bold thinkers, capable of changing the status quo and choosing the path forward for their organizations.
Cost to Participate
The cost to participate in the AHRA Leaders of Choice Program is $499 per person.
This investment includes valuable benefits designed to support your development throughout the program year, including:
- 50% off registration at the early-bird rate for the 2026 AHRA Annual Meeting, July 12-15 in Orlando (a value of $360+)
- Free registration to the 2027 AHRA Annual Meeting in San Jose, California, in summer 2027 (a value of $725+)
- One-on-one mentor and coaching support from facilitator David Waldron
- Monthly virtual calls with classmates
- An in-person two-day working session with your classmates, with travel, hotel, and meals covered (a value of $1,000). Location to be announced.
How It Works
The program kicks off and ends at AHRA's Annual Meeting. Participants will attend a welcome session at the 2026 Annual Meeting and have the chance to meet the graduating class. Cohort members then will engage in a full year of collaborative learning. The cohort culminates at the 2027 Annual Meeting with a capstone project presentation The program curriculum includes a combination of live sessions (virtual and in-person), on-demand recordings, articles, and online community activities. Participants also receive one-on-one coaching with the program facilitator and the option to participate in volunteering and authorship opportunities.

All program candidates will receive a confidential survey before the program kick-off to provide perceived strengths and weaknesses and to identify developmental goals for the program. Upon graduation, candidates will receive a certificate of completion.
Who Participates in Leaders of Choice?
We welcome experienced, diverse professionals who bring a variety of strengths, skills, and perspectives to the table. Successful candidates:
- Will have or be earning their Certified Radiology Administrator (CRA) credential
- Be in a manager job family or have people management/budget management responsibilities
- Can commit to attending all meetings (in person and virtual) as well as annual meeting, and can spend 1-2 hours per week on program participation
- Can secure their organizational commitment to support

Flexible and Convenient to Your Demanding Work Environment
Building on the successes of the inaugural class, the Leaders of Choice Program will:
- Launch with a kick-off meeting and orientation at the 2026 Annual Meeting in July
- Include an in-person 2-day meeting in Houston (January dates TBD)
- Offer a comprehensive business curriculum delivered in a hybrid format to ensure the flexibility you need to attend and complete the work. Monthly webinars, accessible live or as recordings, will cover key topics, including a content assessment at the end of each program
- Include a dedicated community forum for dialogue and program information
- Provide confidential coaching by and access to the primary instructor for the program's full year-long duration
- Enhance your visibility among imaging's top industry leaders through recognition as an author for LINK and during the year
- Expose you to thought leadership in both radiology management and broader business development topics
