Director of Medical Imaging, Telecommunications, IT and Lab - Premier Health-UVMC in Troy OH
I have been honored and blessed to serve the AHRA members in many capacities. Starting in 2010 with nearly 6 years of service on the Radiology Administration Certification Commission, followed by election to serve on the AHRA Board of Directors in 2015, then re-election to a second term this past year. I have served in many capacities including the Finance Committee, the Regulatory Affairs Team, and the Executive Committee. This is an exciting time to be an AHRA member and we have an opportunity to explore new, creative ways to elevate our members and profession. With our new CEO Dan Kelsey, now is the time to embrace new ideas and change in a very intentional way to grow the positive momentum we have enjoyed for many years. Imaging Administrators, our members, operate very differently than we did just 3 years ago. Because of that AHRA must continually evolve to meet the changing needs of us, as members. Much like our imaging industry is transitioning from volume to value, AHRA must continue to add value and be the catalyst for the development of professional leadership. It is my goal to assure that every member receives significantly more value than they pay for membership with AHRA. We must be relevant and creative in bringing value to our members and to elevate our professional image. With passion and purpose, I continually promote this profession as the GREATEST on earth; and AHRA is the GREATEST association for Imaging leaders. We have the responsibility to elevate both, for and through our members, by providing them the skills and knowledge to bring their best every day. I would be honored to bring my best every day, if chosen as your next President-Elect.
Question & Answer
If nominated as AHRA President, in what ways do you plan to contribute to help AHRA meet its strategic goals?
As a servant leader for AHRA, I commit to support the AHRA Strategic plan; it’s mission, vision and values to imaging leaders, employers and industry stakeholders to achieve AHRA’s goals. Together we will do this by creating exciting new opportunities that energize our members, stakeholders and staff; support and foster a culture built on diversity of thought, continue to provide motivation and rejuvenation to our members, and support the family-like culture our members and staff appreciate. We will enhance the culture of sharing best practices that bring great outcomes to the customers we serve. We will empower the next generation of leaders through succession planning to ensure those great outcomes for the future. I will ensure effective planning, strengthen our programs and services, ensure integrity, build competence, and enhance the associations’ public standing. But most importantly, I will listen to the members as they share what is most important to them and what they need to bring their best every day. I will work with our leadership, employers and industry stakeholders to enhance our environment and create the opportunity for members to take their performance to the next level.
What would you say were your biggest contributions to AHRA while serving as an AHRA Director?
My greatest contributions to AHRA have been time and talent. I have been blessed to participate as a Radiology Administration Certification Commissioner where I led and supported many initiatives that enhanced and elevated our Certified Radiology Administrator credential. I am a textbook, Radiology Management and Link author; a speaker at our annual meetings and have served on numerous Education Foundation Annual Campaigns as a committee member. I served on the CEO Search team and continue to serve on the Finance and Executive committees. During this time, we have launched many successful initiatives and campaigns, along with enhancing our student memberships to ensure success of the next generation. As an association, we are expanding our vision to include expertise outside Imaging which enables our members to expand and grow in their expertise. I serve as the board liaison to the Regulatory Affairs team who have successfully brought our membership significant education in the regulatory arena and enhanced our associations public standing. This need was clearly identified by our membership as a gap in education, and AHRA effectively addressed that need. I also achieved my CRA in 2003 and my Fellow status in 2013.
