Wesley Harden, CRA, FAHRA - Candidate for AHRA President Elect

Director of Imaging Services – Lexington Medical Center in West Columbia, SC

As a member of the AHRA since 2002 I have enjoyed many of the benefits our Association continues to offer. The more I become involved in our Association, the more I continue to grow as an Imaging Leader. I have had the opportunity to serve in various ways-scanning badges, volunteering in many areas and speaking during numerous conferences. As a member of the AHRA Board and the current Finance Director I bring a passionate, actively engaged Leadership focus to all our meetings and discussions. I believe by asking questions, making suggestions, seeking feedback, and searching for the correct path the President can maximize the great diversity and insight of the board and all our AHRA members to guide this association into the right solutions. I support this open dialog in continuing to search for ways to elevate AHRA’s connection to the ever-changing landscape that is Medical Imaging Management. I would serve the Association with these same principles. I would be privileged and honored to be chosen as your President-Elect.

Question & Answer

If nominated as AHRA President, in what ways do you plan to contribute to help AHRA meet its strategic goals?
One of the most important contributions I would make is to listen to the AHRA CEO, AHRA staff, and AHRA Board. I believe by asking questions, making suggestions, seeking feedback and searching for the right path the President can maximize the great diversity and insight our board has to offer in guiding the organization to the RIGHT solutions. I plan to do just that. My contribution will be to guide and support this open dialog and continue to search for ways to keep AHRA vibrant and relevant in the ever changing landscape that is Medical Imaging!

What would you say were your biggest contributions to AHRA while serving as an AHRA and EF Director?
I think my biggest contributions were being present, being open and honest during discussions, not having an ego/not having to be right, but taking the role seriously. When I was assigned a task or asked to be on a team or taskforce, I always was actively engaged in the discussion and always tried to focus on what was best for the organization. As finance director, I always reviewed the material and suggested actions I felt best served the organization. That is what I am proud of.
