Every day we see our colleagues who, through their knowledge, talent and caring,
demonstrate excellence in our profession. The Greater Dayton Imaging Professionals
awards are a means to personally acknowledge those who excel in all areas of medical
imaging.
Injuries to the extremities are an exceedingly common reason for patients to present for medical attention at emergency departments, urgent care locations, and physician offices. Most of these patients will be evaluated initially with radiographs. This lecture will discuss the approach of radiologists in interpreting traumatic musculoskeletal radiographs, including how fractures are described, and the best x-ray views for fracture evaluations. Following this will be a review of the most common fracture types and mechanisms by body part.
