Radiology is no stranger to the volatile, uncertain, complex, and ambiguous (VUCA) environment of the healthcare industry. So how do you as a radiology leader navigate a VUCA environment with your team, when you cannot provide clear answers, easy solutions, and you face one burning issue after the next? In this session, we start with a discussion of the characteristics of a VUCA environment and its impact on employees and yourself in radiology. We will explore the psychology of hope, and with this understanding apply strategies to help you build teams that remain hopeful and optimistic and maintain the mission despite the reality of the VUCA environment. Using these strategies, you will foster teams that are more resilient and sustain themselves emotionally and mentally in a VUCA world.

You will learn to:

• Define the characteristics of a VUCA environment 
• Describe the impact of a VUCA on employees in radiology
• Explain the psychology of hope
• Use the psychology of hope to apply strategies for building hope and resilience in teams in a VUCA world.
