AHRA Renames Scholarship to Honor Memory of CRA Coordinator

Sudbury, MA – AHRA: The Association for Medical Imaging Management announced at the 46th Annual Meeting & Exposion on July 25, 2018 that the AHRA Education Foundation’s CRA Exam Scholarship has been renamed the Kathryn Keeler Memorial Scholarship in honor of late CRA Coordinator, Kathryn Keeler.

"Renaming this scholarship is a tribute to Kathryn's character, huge heart, and strong will of helping others to reach their full potential in the field,” said Cathleen Story, CRA, FAHRA, AHRA Education Foundation Chair.

Kathryn was a beloved and valued member of the AHRA staff and was AHRA’s longest tenured employee, having joined the team in June 2001. Kathryn lost her battle with cancer in April 2018. During her 16 years with the association, she worked on every aspect of our activities. In 2007, she became the CRA Coordinator and worked primarily with the RACC. Her dedication allowed the Certified Radiology Administrator (CRA) credential to grow and continue to add value to the profession of radiology management.

“Kathryn was the key driver to the success, expansion, and accuracy of the RACC and the CRA program. She set a very high standard, and her official title, CRA Coordinator, was grossly understated as to her value to and input into the program.” said former RACC Chair Bruce Hammond, CRA.

The Kathryn Keeler Memorial Scholarship provides the opportunity for AHRA members who might not otherwise be able to afford the registration fees associated with the test to take the CRA exam.
